Brightmoor Bee hotel Prototype

THE collaborative working prototype encourages young students to get involved in science and the local natural environment, specifically relating to Michigan’s native bee populations.

with a Pre-determined set of materials provided as “boxes”, fifth grade students can assemble the same bee hotel.

Created alongside project members Sam McLeod, Ellie Behm, and Megan Bowman in relationship with Detroit’s Brightmoor Maker Space, Detroit Community Schools.

Constructed with cardboard, bamboo, macrame cord, plasticine clay, bamboo composite sheet, outdoor nuts and bolts.
