Expanding color Shelving Installation

The installation spurs interaction between decorative and functional characteristics. As public intervention open to use by anyone, the color, lighting of shadows, and profile each impact perception of an otherwise simple functional structure.

A deliberate approach to the design and each piece reduces overall material waste. The remaining pine and mirrored silhouette form cohesive matching shelves.

Two-week installation in public commons Street Gallery at the Penny Stamps School of Art and Design.

Constructed with pine plywood and steel rod.
